    I'm sorry, did she just say "Europe, which is more divided than ever" ?! Lol, we've never been so common in our directions. Be it european integration, foreign policy, and stopping Russia's 1900-style military campaigns (save for the opportunist Orban. More polarised internally, maybe, due to lack of education and authority by arguments, but...we are more united and unidirectional than ever.

    Something similar may happen in Georgia too. Both nations stand in intensive internal struggle between an EU approach or bounding to Russia. Nevertheless for an EU nation, this kind of violence in Slowakia was not expected and not style of modern european states. In Hungary and Serbia the Pro Asian sentiment is much stronger than the Pro Western EU sentiment. So Orban and Viccu may not be in danger from internal radicals.

    Well framed about Trump's 2021 extremism but totally absolutely monumentally underselling the scale of the efforts and threat from Trump and the GOP to undermine the current election, voting, and the post election if they lose. They are using every dirty trick they learned since 1996, and taking them to extreme degrees, including literally legalising voter intimidation in many states through gun-wielding MAGA bro vigilantes policing polling stations under the guise of "stopping the steal". Red neck and protein bro fascism. They're also cheating to dilute democratic votes wherever they can so that the house and senate continue to underrepresent democrats.

  • @ZrJiri
    @ZrJiri 11 часов назад

    You can only undermine democracy for so long before people start looking for undemocratic solutions. The attack on Fico of course doesn't have any place in civilized world, but he is one of the people making Slovakian politics uncivilized. Harvest what you sow and all that jazz.

  • @XSpImmaLion
    @XSpImmaLion 11 часов назад

    I've said this before, and I'll say it again: a candidate for presidency, doesn't matter the party, the politics, the ideology or whatnot, who calls an election rigged before it even happens, should be barred from participating in such an election, period. It's just a matter of coherence, this doesn't even has to do with politics. It has to do with core principles of democracy. It's not exactly the same, but the analogy serves. Sportsmanship also prevents this, because it's parallel in fair appliance of rules. A team does not get to play if it's calling out the judge, referee, umpire, technical team or whatever for some supposed corruption scheme before the game even happens. The team either presents proof and stops the election before it happens and then corrects it so that a fair game happens, or it doesn't get to participate in the match. You don't trust the process, and you won't present proof of crime, you can get your sh*t and go home. More than that, you should be punished for the crime of seditious libel. I don't know why these provisions aren't being used to defend the US political system and government in general, but it should. These concepts are basic for a functioning democracy. The only thing I don't understand, among several others that have already been violated, is how these basic notions can escape a nation that calls itself the greatest democracy in the world, when it's not doing even the basics to protect itself. The foundations and pillars of a democratic system have been constantly attacked, if not already destroyed, by a group of people who calls themselves a party, but they are actually traitors, saboteurs and criminals violently attacking the established political system in the US. Ignoring all this and still leaving the doors open for this group is not a normal democratic process, it's giving power to traitors that have already proven and given away all their intentions to topple democracy. And it's just horrifyingly amazing how this is happening in the supposed richest and most powerful nation in the world. We're just watching how a democracy gets toppled over with zero defensive action in slow motion.

    The vatniks and katsaps came in full force to accuse the CIA or the Ukrainians of plotting this assassination attempt. In reality, it was a Neo-Nazi (Juraj Cintula) who was unsatisfied with Fico being insufficiently pro-Russian. Cintula has called for pogroms against Slovak Gypsies, associated himself with a neo-fascist paramilitary "Slovenskí Branci" (an associate of Russian "Night Wolves" 1% Motorcycle Club), and openly supports the Neo-Nazi political party People's Party Our Slovakia (Ľudová strana naše Slovensko)

    I don't have a problem with young British people pronouncing "aitch" as "haitch" in general, I know that languages are always changing and that, anyway, it's their language as much as mine, I'm not saying it's wrong; but I've got to say that I find the pronunciation "En Haitch Es" quite startling. I know lots of people who pronounce "aitch" as "haitch", but I'd never heard it used in "NHS" before. I can see that the new pronunciation of the letter name "h" is spreading and is likely going to become the standard one before too long (unless exposure to American English on social media reverses the trend for Gen Z); but I hope the pronunciation of NHS will remain the same, as a kind of linguistic fossil.
